What most excites you about your new job?

Working with a PM team and creating privacy principles within the PM team. Meta is looking into the future of Metaverse, and that's exciting too.

Where were you previously?

Deloitte

What was your preparation strategy?

I studied an hour a day for two weeks, then did three coaching sessions for the pre-onsite interviews, followed by five coaching sessions for the final interview rounds. I was moving from consulting to tech, having previously interviewed with Google. So I knew my technical skills were there, but I needed to improve on the privacy side, for this specific role. First I worked through some practice questions, having found IGotAnOffer's Google interview guides, then I used mock interviews to recognize and work through my weaknesses. The Meta mock interview coaches like Anka were able to help me with behavioral questions as well, giving me a structure to work with. At first I struggled with which stories to tell for specific questions, but ultimately learned that simple stories can make up very strong answers to certain questions. Coaching was worth the money because I wanted this job very much, and Anka was able to coach me to success and have major confidence going into my final interviews.

What was the hardest part of the whole interview process?

I wasn't surprised by anything asked in the interview because I had been so prepared through my sessions with IGotAnOffer. If I hadn't prepared with mock interviews, the hardest parts would have been the conflict management/behavioral questions, but since I received such good coaching, I felt the process was easy.

Did any of the interview questions stand out?

The questions that stood out to me were, "Tell me about a time you had a conflict," "How you work with cross functional team members?" and "What criteria do you use to prioritize?"

Do you have any final tips for other candidates?

Preparation is key. It's very important to be prepared with your stories and how you deliver them. If you don't do any 1-on-1 mock sessions or coaching sessions, it will be really tough to succeed without that initial feedback.
